The promoters are Mr. Uttam C. Mehta chairman of UCM group of companies, with a turnover of Rs. 500 crores, who has done his graduation from BITS, Pilani. Mr. Jyoti Bhattacharya, managing director of Deem Roll-Tech Limited, with a turnover of 15 crores, who has done his graduation from NIT, Durgapur and M.B.A. from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
The plant is situated at Ahmedabad, Gujarat which is growing city in all fronts. The plant is above 30 km from the airport with an installed capacity of 3600 tons per annum initially. The plant is spread over three and half acres of land approximately and have started commercial production during April 2008. Plant is equipped with a 7 ton hammer and the source of power is steam with the help of which forging upto 4.5 ton single piece wt can be produced. The heating furnace is of 12 tons capacity. As of now, we do a furnace for carrying out annealing.
Further, for carrying out heat treatement, we do have a furnace with the capacity of 10 tons and the same is calibrated as per international standards with all PID indicators and temperatures recorders. This is coupled with a quenching facility and quenching media are water and polymer. We are the third company in the industry to use polymer as a quenching media and this would give better physical properties and thereby better life to the products being supplied.
On the quality from, to check the quality of the product before shaping out the complete setup to carry out both destructive and non-destructive testing is installed. We have in house facility to carry out tests like Tensile, Impact, Micro-structure and Hardness. Further, unit also has a facility to check surface defects by dry liquid Penetrant test, Sub-surface defect using magnetic particle test and deep surface defects using Ultrasonic testing Machines.
We also have three lathes to cater to out present machining load of some of the Shafts which we are supplying to steel industries and additional 6 lathes and 2 VTL as are being installed.
As we have a highly competent top management who has indepth knowledge in the field of forging and a dedicated work force, both do not compromise on quality, we are confident that we will be able to supply quality forging as per customer’s specification.
