India has a very low per capita consumption of steel as compared to other industrialized & developing countries in the world, thus indicating a vast potential for the steel industry. The national consumption of steel has gone up more & more which is very encouraging trend after the depressed market conditions of the recent years. The overall estimated consumption of stainless steel in the country was about 1.2 million Metric Tonnes in 2005-2006 which may go further up. Out of this, approx 30% of steel is being consumed in Gujarat mainly by utensils / domestic appliances manufacturing units.

The company has never faced any difficulty in selling its products either in domestic market or international market. At present the installed capacities of UCM Group of Industries namely Mangalam Alloys Limited, Mehta Alloys Limited, Universal Metal Company Limited and Unison Metals Limited are consuming about 25% of the steel production. Apart from this, the company is selling its products in all over the country mainly S.S. 410 Rounds & S.S. 200 Rounds besides the traditional grades of S.S. 304 and 316. |
